Dr Shubashini Mathialagan

About Me

Shuba holds a PhD in Educational Psychology and Counselling from the University of Malaya, a Master’s in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology from Swansea University, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from York St John University.

A trained Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) practitioner, she specializes in mindfulness-based interventions while integrating goal-oriented approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). She tailors her therapeutic approach to clients’ cultural backgrounds and needs, drawing from her extensive experience working with diverse populations.

Her clinical expertise includes facilitating group therapies for individuals facing weight struggles, addiction, depression, and relationship challenges. She has also conducted numerous corporate mental health talks on topics such as mental health stigma, resilience, mindfulness, and stress management. Beyond therapy, she provides wellness coaching, supporting clients in managing emotions, career transitions, retrenchment, and behavioral difficulties.
Currently, Shuba collaborates with a drug rehabilitation center, conducting mindfulness-based workshops focused on cravings and overall mental well-being.
